Charged:  Agg. DWI, Reckless Driving, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer

On 10/17/12 at approximately 1558 hours, deputy observed vehicle traveling westbound on SR 502 at a high rate of speed.  Deputy activated his emergency equipment attempting to stop the vehicle.  Vehicle then turned left onto SFC Rd. 101D and swerved onto the opposite lane of travel.  Deputy attempted to make contact with the driver due to a school bus dropping of children.  Vehicle then fled the area.  Deputy then blocked the vehicle and observed driver to be impaired.  Suspect admitted to consuming 3 shots of whiskey prior to driving.  SFST's were administered and clues of impairment were observed. Suspect was arrested and refused chemical testing.  Suspect was transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.  Vehicle was seized as per Santa Fe County Ordinance.

Stolen: 22 inch TV, and Mickey Mouse Men's Watch Total Estimated Value: $250.00

Victim reports unknown suspect(s) gained unlawful forced entry into the above location sometime between the hours of 10am to 3pm.  Entry was gained by breaking a front window.  Estimated Damage: $300.00.  Once suspect(s) were inside the above listed items were taken.  Case still pending further investigation.

Victim reported that her grandson stole her debit card and used it to make numerous transactions between October 1st and October 16th , totaling about $2,850.00 in charges. Investigation is still ongoing. Contact with the grandson for interview had not been made yet at the time of report.

On 10-15-12 the owner of the above vehicle reported sometime between Friday (10-12-12) and Saturday (10-13-12) unknown person stole the above vehicle. The vehicle was parked at the owner's business on Bisbee Court. Suspect information is pending.

Suspect:  Steve Sanchez, 33, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  DWI (Felony), Abandonment or Abuse of a Child (Four Counts), Roadways

                   Laned for Traffic, Driving While License Suspended or Revoked

                   Warrant - Grand Jury Indictment,  Arrest Order - Absconder

On Monday, October 15, 2012 at 8:01 PM the suspect was operating the vehicle west at the location  and was unable to maintain a single lane of travel and almost struck a marked Santa Fe Police Department patrol vehicle which was stopped with its emergency lights activated.  The suspect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and refused to submit to a Breathalyzer Test.  As the suspect has four or more prior DWI Offenses, a Search Warrant was obtained and a Blood Alcohol Test was administered to the suspect.  Results of this test are pending.  The suspect's New Mexioco Driver's License is revoked with the Arrest Clause attached.  There was an active Arrest Warrant for the suspect for a Grand Jury Indictment issued by the 1st Judicial District Court.  There was also an Arrest Order for the suspect issued by the New Mexico Probation and Parole, Espanola Office.  Victims #1 thru #4 were passengers in the vehicle at the time of this incident.

Victim reports the above vehicle was taken from the above location between the dates of 10-12-12 at 6:00pm and 10-13-12 at 9:00am by unknown suspect(s).  The vehicle was locked with a pad lock and the lock was damaged.  Case still pending further investigation.

Location:  35 Fire Place, Santa Fe, NM (off of State Road 14)

On 10/15/12 between the hours of 1030 and 1130 victim stated that someone stole his Dewalt drill, 2 batteries and a charger, and some drill bits from a building inside a construction site.  Victim stated that he is the only in the building that is being built.  Estimated value of items taken is $700.00.
