0210000709 Aggravated DWI 01-26-2010

Deputy Assigned: Brian Nissen

Commander: Lt. Marco Lucero

Location: East Ramada Way, SFNM

Arrested: Ricardo Chavez 29yoa

On the above date, officer came upon a 1993 Cadilac parked in the middle of the road at the above location.  Upon checking the vehicle, the defendant was found passed out in the back seat.  Upon awakening the defendant, officer noticed an odor of an alcoholic beverage.  Assigned officer attempted to administer field tests to the defendant who advised that he was too drunk.  Defendant was arrested and the vehicle was seized due to the defendant having prior DWI arrest.  For further information, refer to officer's report.

On 01-22-10 the victim attempted to buy a vehicle through Craigslist on the internet from a subject in the United Kingdom. The victim sent $4,000.00 in a money gram to the suspect. When the suspect got the money he gave the victim a false confirmation number. After that the victim checked in to the purchase and found out the suspect did not exist.

The victim reported that on 01-24-10 between the hours of 2:50 PM and 3:05 PM someone stole his Apache X skis from the ski rack at the Santa Fe Ski Basin.

Case# 0210000677 Aggravated DWI

Vehicle:  2005, red, Dodge, 2 door

Suspect:  Jennifer D. Arellano, 23, Glorieta, NM

Charged:  Aggravated DWI, Open Container, Mandatory Proof of Financial

                   Responsibility

On 1-25-2010 at 11:26 PM the suspect was operating the vehicle in the parking lot lot at the location.  The vehicle's headlamps were not on as the vehicle was coming from behind the building at the location.  The suspect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and had a Breath Alcohol Content of .16 or greater.  The supect was in possession of an open bottle of Budweiser beer.  The suspect was unable to produce valid proof of insurance upon request.

Suspect:  John L. Martinez, 26, Pojoaque, NM

Charged:  Battery Upon a Household Member

On 1-25-2010 at 10:17 PM, the Suspect and Victim, who is the Suspect's mother, were involved in a verbal altercation at the location.  The altercation turned physical when the Suspect pushed the Victim.  The Victim was not injured as a result of this incident.

Case# 0210000655 Breaking and Entering

Suspect:  Person(s) Unknown

On 1-25-2010 at 4:15 AM an Alarm Activation was received from a residence at the location.  Upon the arrival of deputies it was revealed that person(s) unknown had gained entry to the residence by prying open a side door to the garage.  It did not appear that any items had been taken.  The residence is vacant and under contract with a realator.

On 1-24-2010, between 3:30 PM and 9:20 PM person(s) unknown untered a residence at the location through an unlocked door.  Once entry was gained,      person(s) unknown removed a HP Laptop Computer, Broad Band Card, Mouse and a carry case valed at more than $1,200.00.

Case# 0210000652 Driving While License Suspended or Revoked

Location:  SFC Road 84, Pojoaque, NM

Vehicle:  2006, white, Suzuki SUV

Suspect:  Shannon Ortiz, 23, Pojoaque, NM

Charged:  Driving While License Suspended or Revoked

On 1-24-2010 the suspect was operating the vehicle at the location and crossed left of the center divide line twice.  A check with the New Mexico Department of Motor Vehicles revealed that the suspect's New Mexico driver's license is revoked with the arrest clause attached.  The reason for the revocation was for a prior DWI, therefore the vehicle was seized.

Stolen: Black and Decker power drill, Cambell Hausseld Impact Wrench

Value: $140.00

On 01-24-2010 the victim saw the suspect climbing over her fence, carrying the above items. The victim's powere drill was located at the suspect(s) residence along with an additional power drill. The suspect was identified and charges are pending.

0210000647/ Death Investigation/ 01-24-2010

Deputy Assigned: L. Martinez

Commander Entering: Corp. J. Rodriguez

Location: Santa Fe National Forest Norski Trailhead

On 01-24-2010 Deputies were dispatched to a male, who was found to be deceased at the above location. The decedent had been cross country skiing. After returning to the parking area, the decedent collapsed. Santa Fe Med 1 arrived on scene and could not revive the victim. No foul play is expected in the incident.
