0211004051 Death Investigation

Deputy assigned: Nathan Segura

Commander entering: Cpl. Fred Suazo

Location: Calle Hermosa (Hwy 14 area)

On this date Deputies responded to the above address in reference to an unattended death. The victim (74 year old Male) was found unresponsive in bed by a family member. It was undetermined at this time what the exact cause of death was but appears to be of natural causes.

0211004021 Criminal Damage to Property

Deputy Assigned: Paul Prentice

Location: Calle Maes (Airport Rd NM)

Damaged: small dents to exterior of body.

Victim reported that sometime between 2/1/11 and 3/23/11 some unknown person damaged the body of victims’ vehicle as it was parked in victim’s driveway. The damage consisted of small dents throughout the vehicle.
The damaged was estimated to be about $1500.00

0211004045 / DWI (Felony) / 3-23-2011

Deputy Assigned: Brian Nissen

Location: Agua Fria St./ Lopez Lane  Santa Fe,NM

Arrested: Victoria Chavez     Age:34      Santa Fe,NM

Deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash - hit and run. As Deputies were responding to the location, one of the Deputies responding observed the suspect vehicle traveling east on Agua Fria at Lopez Lane. The Deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the vehicle turned onto a side street failing to yield. The vehicle stopped in a private drive and the driver fled on foot for a short distance until she was caught. The driver was found to be impaired and was arrested. The driver was found to have prior DWI convictions and a blood draw was administered.

Location: Sunshine Way (Agua Fria area)

Stolen: White X-Box, two halo controllers, four Xbox games DVD set of “ADDER”, controller for surround sound system, IPod


Victim reported that between Saturday March 19, 2011 at 4:00pm and Tuesday March 22, 2011 at 10:00pm an unknown person(s) gained entry through what was thought to be a locked sliding glass door but was unlocked, and took the above listed items.
The above listed stolen items were valued at about $1180.00

0211004001 / Robbery / 03-22-2011

Location: Peacock Alley    Santa Fe,NM

Victim reported that suspect stole $400 in cash money while attempting to purchase 2 Ipods. Victim stated that he attempted in getting his money back while suspect was trying to leave in a vehicle. Victim stated that his arm was trapped in the door frame and was carried for a distance before suspect brushed up against a wooden post causing victim to fall off vehicle. Case is still under investigation

0211003995, Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, 03-22-2011

Deputy Assigned: J. Nissen

Commander Entering: Cpl. R. Crow

Location: Enebro Road (El Dorado)

Suspect: Russell Masias 51yoa, male, Santa Fe

Charges: DWI, Open Container

Deputies were called to the above area in regards to the suspect pulling into a residence and requesting alcohol from the homeowner.  The homeowner not knowing who the suspect was and suspecting that he was impaired contacted Law Enforcement.  Deputy Nissen made contact with the driver and found him to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.  The suspect also had an open container of alcohol located in his vehicle.   The suspect was arrested without incident and booked into ADC.

Location: #1 Sandy Way (El Rancho NM area)

Arrested: Chris Halverson 05-26-1990

Deputies were dispatched to a Domestic Dispute at the above location. Chris Halverson was threatening his parents causing them to believe they would be battered. Chris Halverson punched holes in the walls causing interior damage to the home. He was booked on two counts of Assault on a House Member.

Location: King’s Ranch Feed Lot Road (Stanley New Mexico)

Stolen: Anhydrous Ammonia

Between the hours of 4:15 am on 03-21-2011 and 7:00 am and 03-22-2011 someone stole an undetermined amount of anhydrous ammonia from a storage tank located at the above stated location. Suspects are pending further investigation.

The above listed stolen items were valued at about $2500.00

Location: Thunder Mountian Road    Edgewood,NM

Deputies responded to listed address in regards to a welfare check. Upon arrival, Deputies located an elderly male deceased in the garage area of the home, inside of a running vehicle. The death is currently under investigation.

0211003956 / Aggravated Assault / 3-21-2011

Location: Dinkle/SR 41   Edgewood,NM

Victim reported that unknown persons were following her on Dinkle Road and State Road 41 where the persons began throwing items at her vehicle and then rammed her vehicle twice before leaving the area. Victim reported minor damage to her vehicle and described the suspect vehicle as being a white in color Dually. Case is still under investigation.
