0209000432/ Death Investigation/ 01-13-09

Deputy Assigned: F. Trujillo

Location; State Road 503- Santa Fe,NM

Deceased: 83 year old male

Deputies responded to an assisting ambulance call in reference to an unconscious male. Upon arrival it was learned that an 83 year old male was found not breathing. Santa Fe County Medics were already on scene and unable to resuscitate the male. No signs of foul play were found. The decedent has a history of illness.

Location: Saratoga Lane- Santa Fe

Stolen: PS3 game system and games, black luggage

Value: $580.00

On 01-13-09 the victim reported that between 7:30am and 6:00pm, someone had entered the residence and removed the above items. Entry was gained through a rear window. A latent print was located on the master bedroom light switch and will be submitted to the crime lab for analysis. This case is currently under investigation.

On 01-13-09 the above individual was placed under arrest on an active Bench Warrant, issued out of Bernalillo District Court. The individual was already incarcerated at the Santa Fe County Jail.

Arrested: Brenda Romero age: 48

Charges: Aggravated D.W.I. Proof of Financial Responsibility and Following too Closely

On 01-13-09 the above individual was involved in a motor vehicle crash at the above location. The above individual was found to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor. Subject submitted to the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, and subsequently placed under arrest. The driver refused to submit to chemical testing after being read the NM Implied Consent Act. The driver was unable to provide current proof of insurance. The investigation revealed that the driver was following too close to the vehicle in front of her, causing the crash. The driver was booked into the Santa Fe County Jail accordingly.

Suspect information pending further investigation

Victim reported that sometime in September she was at an unknown home in Arroyo Seco.  Victim was at a party.  Victim said she blacked out.  She awoke to find she was sexually assulted.

CASE 0209000389 / BURGLARY-LARCENY-CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY / 01-12-2009

DEPUTY ASSIGNED:  DEPUTY SOLOMON ROMERO

LOCATION:  100 BLOCK OF ARROYO CUYAMUNGUE, CUYAMUNGUE AREA

ITEM STOLEN:  42' FLAT SCREEN TV, JEWERLY, CLOTHING, SILVER COINS, NINTENDO WII, WII FIT AND GAMES, CD, PLAY STATION II AND KENWOOD SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM, ITEMS VALUED AT ABOUT $10,000.00

On this date victims called to report that unknown persons kicked in a door and removed items from their residence, then the suspect entered another house on the property and took items from there and then left the area.  Deputys were able to locate some foot prints and latent prints in the area and case is still under investigation.

CASE 020900387 / BATTERY ON A HOUSEHOLD MEMBER / 01-12-2009

CHARGES:  BATTERY OF A HOUSEHOLD MEMBER

On this date victim called to report that the suspect shoved her to the ground after an argument about their child. Suspect was intoxicated at the time of the battery and he was taken into custody by deputy with out incident.  Suspect was taken to the Adult Detention Center.

CHARGES: FAILURE TO PAY FINES, WARRANT

On this date deputy stopped suspect for a traffic violation on Cerrillos Road.  Drivers license check showed where suspect had an active warrant for her arrest out of San Miguel County for failure to pay fines.  Suspect was arrested and her vehicle was impounded.  Suspect was taken to the Adult Detention Center, where the warrant was served.
