2022003553/ Battery Upon a Peace Office, Assault Upon a Peace Officer/ 6-21-22

Arrested: Joes Chacon, 43 YO, Male from Santa Fe, NM

While the above subject was being escorted into the First Judicial District Court inmate holding area, he became uncooperative and attempted to swing at an ADC Correction Officer.  Once the Corrections Officer was finally able to place the subject into the holding cell, the subject stood up and spit in the officers face. The above suspect was re-booked into ADC with the charge of battery upon a peace officer and assault upon a peace officer.

Location: Old Callejon Road, Pojoaque, NM

Stolen: Catalytic Converter

On Tuesday, June 21st, 2022 deputies responded to the above area in reference to a larceny/criminal damage to property. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim. The victim advised between 4:15 pm and 7:35 pm on 06-21-2022, unknown suspects removed the catalytic converter from a vehicle. This case remains under investigation.

Arrested: Benjamin Herrera-Maestas, 39-year-old male from Espanola N.M.

On 6-21-22 a traffic stop was conducted on a black Cadillac Escalade driven by Mr. Herrera-Maestas.  He was discovered to be driving on a revoked license.  He also had am outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Kansas.  He was booked into the Santa Fe County Jail accordingly.

Suspect was observed committing a traffic violation. During the investigation, it was learned that the suspect had a revoked driver's license with an arrest clause. The suspect was arrested and booked accordingly.
