Suspect: Withheld

A 13 year old child is reported to have been physically battered by a parent  at home according to local Santa Fe School Officials.  The child received bruising upon the arms from two separate blunt objects.  The child was taken into protective custody as the investigation continues.

0209004572, Burglary, Larceny, 5/26/09

Suspect: Pending

Victim reports home was entered by force through front door and a high-def 40" television along with some alcohol and a pair of binoculars are reported missing.  Case is under investigation.

0209004568, Aggravated DWI,Negligent use of a weapon, 5/26/09

Location:Hwy 14 near Hwy 344  Golden NM

Suspect: Bernie Armijo    Age:73   Golden NM

Bernie Armijo was arrested for DWI after he "flagged down" a Sheriff's Unit by driving at a high rate of speed and flashing his headlights for the unit to stop.  Armijo showed signs of impairment while describing a dispute with one of his neighbors that had just occured.  Armijo failed to provide a proper breath sample and was armed with a loaded handgun during this encounter.

0209004528 Aggravated Battery

Location of incident: 242A Haouzous Rd

Victim/suspect: Juan Salazar age 56, David Cordova age 57

Charges: PENDING

On 5/25/09, Deputies responded to a Domestic disturbance involving an uncle/nephew. According to the Uncle (Cordova), they were both drinking, and got into an argument. The nephew(Salazar)the broke a window to his Uncle's house and attacked him with a baseball bat, striking him on the back of the head. The Uncle then took the baseball bat away, and struck him back. The nephew fell off the front porch, and was taken to St. Vincent hospital ER for injuries sustained. The nephew and his girlfriend claim that they were at the Mine Shaft Tavern, when he got in a fight with an unknown male."ViCTIM" was highly intoxicated and uncoperative. A "crimescene" was located at the Uncle's house, and a baseball bat with blood on it was also located. Case refered to investigations for follow up.

Arrested: Rudy Abeyta, 39 yoa male, Alcalde, NM

The above named defendant was located at above location following several reports of reckless driving.  A motorist followed the driver to above location and identified the defendant as the driver.  The defendant was subsequently arrested for DWI and booked accordingly.

Case #:0209004523 / Aggravated Driving While Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs/ Date: 05/25/2009

Location: State Road 599 at Airport Road

Arrested: Richard Crawford, 49 yoa Shawnee, Kansas

A wrong way driver was reported at above location. The vehicle was intercepted and the driver was found to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages.  A DWI Investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested.  The defendant refused to provide a breath sample and booked accordingly into the Santa Fe County Jail.

Case # 0209004507 / Battery Against a Household Member / Date: 05/24/2009

Location: South Meadows / Airport Road

Arrested: Juan Zambrano Vasquez, 37 yoa male, Santa Fe, NM

The victim called 911 and reported that her husband had held her against her will inside their vehicle and was accusing her of being unfaithful.  The victim was battered and fled from the vehicle on foot, chasing the victim to the McDonald's restaurant on Airport Road and Calle Lucia.  The male was intercepted by Deputies and was arrested.  An emergency order of protection was authorized and served on the defendant prior to being booked into the county jail.

Arrested: Kenneth Kalfin, 60 yoa male Santa Fe, NM

The above named suspect was involved in a domestic dispute over dinner.  The victim reported that the suspect had battered her. The victim displayed visible injury and the suspect was arrested and booked accordingly.

Arrested: Victor Diaz, 58 yoa male, Santa Fe, NM

Deputies responded to a report of a domestic battery in progress. Deputies arrived and the victim reported that the male had placed her in a head lock and had punched her on the top of her head.  Physical evidence was found and the suspect was arrested and booked accordingly.

Suspects/Arrested: Pending

 

Victim reported that between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on 05/24/09 an unknown peroson(s) made force entry into her vehicle and stole an I-Pod Nano, Dell Lap top computer, a speaker box with two twelve inch Jensen speakers and a JVC video camera.  Total estimated value of the items taken is $1,400.  No suspect or witnesses is available at this time.
