Case #0216007836, Death Investigation

Assigned Deputy: O. McCartney

Location: 6300 block of Olive Street, Santa Fe, NM

Deceased: Male, 42, Santa Fe, NM

On Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at approximately 2:48am, deputies responded to location in reference to a male, who was unresponsive. Medics were unable to revive the male. The Office of the Medical Investigator were called to the scene. OMI did not believe the death was suspicious in nature.

Case #0216007835, Receiving, Transferring Stolen Motor Vehicle

Assigned Deputy: C. Cullison

Location: 2600 block of Sawmill Road, Santa Fe, NM

Vehicle: 2004 Blue Chevy Tahoe

Suspect: Pennie Soto, 20, Santa Fe, NM

Charges: Receiving, Transferring Stolen Motor Vehicle; Concealing Identity

On Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at about 12:43am, Deputy made contact with the suspect, who was inside the vehicle. Suspect provided a false name and the vehicle returned stolen out of N.C.I.C. Suspect was placed under arrest, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.

Case #0216007829, Aggravated DWI

Assigned Deputy: E. Alderete

Commander Entering: Cpl. K. Whyte

Location: 3800 block of West Alameda, Santa Fe, NM

Vehicle: 2008 Blue BMW 335I

Suspect: Joseph Bransford, 39, Santa Fe, NM

Charges: Aggravated DWI, Careless Driving, No Proof of Insurance

On Monday, May 23, 2016 at about 10:16pm, deputies responded to location in reference to a motor vehicle accident. It was discovered that the driver lost control of the vehicle, went off the road and rolled the vehicle one time. There was no proof of insurance inside the vehicle. Driver displayed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DWI. Driver was read the New Mexico Implied Consent Advisory and he refused to submit to chemical testing. Driver was transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without Incident. No one received any life threatening injuries as a result of the motor vehicle accident and were checked my medics prior to any arrest being made.

0216007802, DWI 4th or Subsequent, Driving While Revoked and Careless Driving, 05.23.16

Deputy Assigned: Rob Garcia

Commander Entering: Lt. W. Pacheco

Location: I-25 and SR 599

Arrested: Felipe Ortega, age 58, Albuquerque, NM

Deputies were dispatched to the above location in regards to a hit and run crash.  Deputies located the vehicle north on SR 599.  Upon contact with the driver he showed signs of impairment, he was arrested.  The above suspect was arrested on the above charges and booked accordingly.

0216007821-Burglary, Larceny, Criminal Damage to Property- 5-23-16

Deputy Assigned- K. Roybal

Location- Hyde Park Road MM 5.

Items Taken- Purse and contents of purse

Between 7:00 pm and 7:50 pm, unknown subjects forced entry into a 2015 Subaru Outback and took the above listed items.  Value of items taken is $233.  Case is under investigation.

0216007805 - Burglary (Residential) - 05-23-16

Location: Sueno De Vigil Rd

Suspect(s): Unknown

The victim reported that someone kicked in their front door while they were away and stole two 32” television sets from the residence.

A witness reported seeing a dark gray vehicle in front of the victim’s residence.

0216007776 - Battery / Household Member - 05-23-16

Location: Cottonwood Mobile Home Park           

Suspect: Eric Rosas – 26 - Santa Fe, NM

Charges: Battery on a Household Member – Criminal Damage to property Household Member

The Victim (suspect’s mother) woke her son up to go to work.  When he awoke he became angry with his mother and grabbed her wrist and twisted it. When his mother called 911 he left the residence.

Deputy was able to make contact with the suspect at another location and subsequently arrested the suspect on the above charges as well as an outstanding Municipal Court Warrant.

Case#: 0216007709/Residential Burglary, Larceny, Criminal Damage to Property/Date: 05-21-2016

Deputy Assigned: Deputy Michael Matison

Location: 1300 block of Nelsons Loop, Santa Fe, NM (West Alameda Area)

Stolen: Craftsman Tool Chest containing misc. tools, and Antique metal stamped mirror  Total estimated value: $7,000.00

Victim reports unknown persons gained unlawful forced entry sometime between May 20, 2016 at 10:30pm and May 21, 2016 at 5:30pm at the above location.  Entry was gained through the front door.  Total value of damage to door $500.00. Once inside the above items were taken.  Case still pending further investigation.

0216007656, Burglary, Larceny, Criminal Damage. 05.20.16

Deputy Assigned: Chris Trujillo

Location: Bison Court, Pojoaque, NM

Stolen: Computer, XBOX, Drill, CD's and Wood box containing cash and coins.

Deputies responded to the above address in regards to a burglary.  Deputies learned between May 15th and today, an unknown person entered the above location and removed the above items.  Case is still under investigation, no suspects have been identified.

0216007605 / Aggravated DWI / 5-19-2016

Deputy Assigned: Clay Cullison

Location: Siler Road / Agua Fria     Santa Fe,NM

Arrested: Lisa Chavez     Age: 52        Santa Fe,NM

The listed person was stopped by a Santa Fe County Deputy for speeding. Upon contact with the driver, the Deputy smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the person. The Deputy requested that the driver submit to sobriety testing which she complied. Impairment was detected and she was arrested. The driver refused to chemical testing, so she was transported and booked into jail. Her vehicle was seized in accordance with Santa Fe County Seizure Ordinance.
