Case#: 0211015824/ Larceny/ Date: 10/23/11

Location:  residence off of Cibola Circle, Santa Fe, NM (off of Old Las Vegas Hwy)

On 10/23/11 deputies responded to above location in reference to a larceny. Victim stated that she sent her watchband to suspect's father to repair on February 2011.  Suspect called the victim in March advising that he received her watchband but didn't know if he could repair it and that his father had passed away.  Victim stated that she told the suspect to attempt to repair it.  Victim stated that she has not heard from the suspect.  Victim stated that she has made several attempts to contact the suspect but the numbers are disconnected.  Victim stated that the watchband is estimated at $1000.00.

Case #: 0211015794/ Criminal Damage to Property/ Date: 10/22/11

Deputy assigned:  Deputy Shannon Coles

Commander entering:  Lt. Linda Ortiz

Location:  100 block of Cities of Gold Road, Santa Fe, NM (Pojoaque)

On 10/22/11 deputies spoke to victim at 35 Camino Justicia in reference to a criminal damage to property.  Victim stated that she met the suspect who wanted to discuss their relationship.  Victim stated that the suspect was leaning into the passenger side window when the suspect was scratching her car door.  Victim then met the suspect again to exchange the children and one of the kids observed the suspect slashing the soft top to the victim's vehicle.  Victim stated that the estimated damage amount is $1400.00.  The vehicle is a 2004 Chrysler Sebring.

Case#: 0211015830/ Arson/ Date: 10/23/11

Deputy assigned:  Deputy Brian Brandle

Commander entering:  Lt. Linda Ortiz

Location:  3900 block of San Felipe Road, Santa Fe, NM

On 10/23/11 deputy was dispatched to the above area in reference to a structure fire.  Deputy arrived on scene and noticed a structure fully engulfed in flames.  The structure was abandon prior to the fire.  Witnesses observed 2 hispanic males leaving the scene.  Fire personnel extinguished the fire.  The owner of the property was contacted.  Case is still pending.

Case#: 0211015798/ Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, Larceny/Date: 10/22/11

Deputy assigned:  Lt. Linda Ortiz

Location:  Old Airport Road & Arapaho Street, Santa Fe, NM

On 10/22/11 deputy was dispatched to above location in reference to an abandon vehicle which was a white in color Cadillac.  Deputy arrived on scene and observed that the vehicle had all of its windows shattered with possibly a rock.  The vehicle was checked by deputies the night before and the windows were in tact and the stereo was in the vehicle.  The stereo had been removed from inside the vehicle.  An attempt to contact the owner of the vehicle was made with negative results.  Estimated damage amount is pending.  Estimated value of the stereo is pending.

Case#: 0211015754/Fraud/Date: 10-21-2011

Location: 900 Block of Old Las Vegas Highway, Santa Fe, NM (Canoncito area)

Suspect: Pending

On October 21, 2011 deputies responded to the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office in reference to a fraud that occurred at the above residence.  Victim stated he was sent an email if he wanted to be a mystery shopper.  Victim agreed and was sent fradulent postal money orders.  Victim advised he was instructed to cash the money orders at his bank then send the money via Western Union to the Philippines and keep a small portion for himself for evaluating their service.  Victim advised he cashed eleven of the fraudulent money orders until his financial institution notified him.  Victim was defrauded $10,780.00.  Case still under investigation.

Case#0211015773 / DWI, Unlawfull Taking of a Motor Vehicle / 10/22/2011

Deputy Assigned: S. Maloney

Commander Entering: Cpl. M. Delgado

Location: Highway 84/285 at State Road 503, Pojoaque area of Santa Fe County

Arrested: Daniel Hernandez-Vargas, 21-year-old male from Pojoaque N.M.

Recovered stolen vehicle: 1992 red in color Nissan Sentra

    On 10/22/2011 at approximately 10:00pm Deputies condcuted a traffic stop on a 1992 red in color Nissan Sentra on Highway 84/285 at State road 503.  It was discovered the vehicle had just been stolen from the espanola area.  The driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested on the above charges.  The vehicle was returned to the owner.

Case#0211015777 / DWI / 10/22/2011

Deputy Assigned: L. Martinez

Location: Auto Zone parking lot on Airport Road

Arrested: Vicente Garcia-Meza, 30-year-old male from Santa Fe N.M. 

    On 10/22/2011 at approximately 2:30am Deputies observed a suspicious vehicle (white in color 2004 Pontiac Garnd Prix) parked in the parking lot of the Auto Zone on Airport Road.  Deputies made contact with thr driver who was found to be intoxicated.  He was arrested and charged accordingly.

02110015728, Burglary/Fraudulent use of a credit card/Criminal damage to property, 10-21-2011

Location: 1500 Bishops Lodge Road (Tesuque)

Suspect: Pending

Stolen: Black & White purse, black wallet, NM drivers license, BoA credit card, BoA check book, makup.

Damaged: 2007 Hyundai Elantra, broken passenger window

Victim reported that the above vehicle was left locked at the above location.  Sometime between the times of  0800-0900 an unknown suspect(s) broke the passengers window to gain entry into the vehicle. Once inside the above purse was taken and the suspect fled the area. Case is under investigation

0211015746, Burglary, 10-21-2011

Location: 100 block of Blue Corn Trace (Highway 14, Mile 30)

Suspect: Pending

Stolen: U.S. currency ($1,500)

Victim reported that sometime between 10-14-2011 and 10-20-20011 they were away from their residence.  Upon returning home victim noticed that U.S. currency in the amount of $1500 was missing from the residence. No forced entry was noted. Case is under investigation.

Case # 0211015725 Death Investigation

Deputy assigned: Tim Benavidez

Location: County Road 74 (Tesuque NM area)

On this date Deputies responded to the above address in reference to an unattended death. The victim (74 year old male) was found unresponsive by family members. It was undetermined at this time what the exact cause of death was but appears to be of natural causes. A DNR was in effect.
