On 12-21-10, victim received several phone calls. During one of the phone calls the victim was advised to go outside and retrieve a note from his vehicle. Victim retrieved a note written in Spanish. The note threatened the life of the victims mother and requested a ransom be paid to ensure her safety. The victims mother lives in Mexico and was verified to be unharmed. The case is currently under investigation.

Charges: Magistrate Court Bench Warrant for failure to pay fines

The above suspect was arrested on the above warrant without incident.

Missing: Keith Buchanan   age 19, blue eyes, brown hair, last seen wearing camo pants and a camo jacket.

Keith was last seen on 12-21-10, at which time he told his grandmother and aunt that he was headed to Chaco Canyon on a "Vision Quest".

Victim reports that someone stole tools from the bed of his pickup between 9:15pm and 9:45pm on 12/20/10. The victim saw two males walking in the area around that time but he could not give any further description. Investigation is still ongoing.

Victim reported an unknown person gained unlawful forced entry into the residence.  While in the residence suspect stole various photography equipment.  Case is under investigation.

Charged:  Battery Against a Household Member

On December 19, 2010 between 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM the suspect and victim were involved in a verbal altercation at a residence at the location.  The altercation turned physical when the suspect grabbed the victim's neck with his hands and pushed her out of the residence.

Deputies called to area for found human remains.  Homeowner began renovations on property, during the trenching process two complete sets of human remains were located.  OMI contacted and believed remains were not recent.  State historic preservation office contacted.  No foul play suspected

On December 19, 2010 at 1:33 AM the suspect was operating the vehicle west at the location and was unable to maintain a single lane of travel.  The suspect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and had a Breath Alcohol Content of .08 or greater.  The suspect was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
