case#2023000452/Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle/ 1-21-23

Commander Entering: Cpl. C. Valencia

Location: 4200 Block of Agua Fria Road, Santa Fe, NM

Stolen: 2010 Gray Chevrolet Equinox

Deputies were dispatched to the above address in reference to a stolen motor vehicle. Upon contact with the victim it was learned the vehicle was taken while it was being warmed up in the morning. The vehicle was entered as stolen into NCIC and a BOLO (Be on the lookout) was broadcasted to surrounding agencies. No suspects at this time. 

Case#2023000448/ DWI and Carless Driving/ 1-21-23

Location: NM 76 Mile Marker 27 , Santa Fe County, NM

Arrested: Angel Marquez, 27 YOM, Espanola, NM

On January 21, 2023 at 6:54 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to a single motor vehicle. Driver showed signs of impairment and agreed to SFST's. Driver was arrested and agreed to chemical testing. Results were above the legal limit. Driver was booked into ADC on the above charges.

2023000430/Death Investigation/01-20-2023

Location: Erica Road, Santa Fe, NM

Victim: 60 YOM, Santa Fe, NM

On Friday, January 20, 2023, deputies responded to the above area in reference to a welfare check. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deceased male. OMI was summoned to the scene. Based on the investigation, it appears as if the male passed away due to natural causes. At this time, no foul play is suspected.

Location: 28 Camino Justicia

Arrested: Joseph Lievens, 34 YOM

On Friday, January 20th, 2023, deputies responded to the above location for a report of an inmate with a warrant. Upon arrival, the warrant was confirmed to be valid and he was rebooked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident. 

Case #2023000427 Agg DWI, Careless Driving, Immediate Notice of Accident

Location: Los Pinos Rd/I25 W. Frontage Road, Santa Fe

Arrested: Erick Perez Carrillo, 18 yoa Male, Santa Fe

Deputies dispatched to location reference a hit and run motor vehicle collision. Driver located at his residence. Driver showed signs of impairment. Driver arrested and booked into SFCADF. 

2023000414/False Imprisonment/01-19-2023

Location: 100 Block of Camino Cerrado, Pojoaque, NM

Arrested: Daniel Leyba, 66 YOM

On Thursday, January 19, 2023, deputies responded to the above area in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, it was found the above suspect had battered a household member and had not let the victim leave. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility. There, he was booked accordingly and without incident.

Location: Santa Fe, NM

On Thursday, January 19th, 2023, deputies responded to a report of fraud. Contact was made with the victim and they advised unknown persons obtained checking account information and used it to cash fraudulent checks. Case remains under investigation. 

Case #2023000410 DWI, Driving while license revoked, Headlamps

Suspect: Thomas Romero, 20 yoa Male, Santa Fe

Location: Zafarano Dr./Rufina St.

Deputies stopped vehicle for having a headlamp out. Driver showed signs of impairment. Driver was arrested and booked into SFCADF.  

2023000390/Aggravated Assault With a deadly weapon

Assigned Deputy: D. Martinez

Suspect: Julio Olivas-Fernandez, 36YOM, Espanola, NM

Location: El Llano Road

Deputies responded to a fight. Upon investigation, it was learned that during the altercation, a knife was brandished and pointed at the victim. Suspect was arrested, transported to the Santa Fe Adult Detention Center, and booked accordingly.

Arrested: Juan Montoya, 39 YOM

On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, deputy responded to the above location for a report of an inmate with an active Santa Fe Magistrate Court warrant. Upon arrival, the warrant was confirmed to be active and he was rebooked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.
