Case#0215004809 Battery against a household member 04-02-15

Location: Santuario Church Parking Lot

Arrested: Richard Garcia 42 yoa male (Albuquerque NM)

Deputy was flagged down by Fire Dept. personnel who had observed a male battering a female in the church parking lot. Deputy arrived on scene and located the suspect and vicitm. Investigation revealed suspect had struck the victim's facial area. Suspect was arrested and taken to the Santa Fe County Detention Center without incident.

0215004833 / Aggravated burglary, Battery / 04-02-15

Location: Residence on Los Lujan's Road in Santa Cruz N.M.

On 04-02-15 at approximately 8:00PM a 13-year-old female was home alone when a juvenile male knocked on the front door.  She opened the door and when she realized it was a male she had problems with in the past she told him to leave and began to close the door.  He forced his way into the home and pushed her down on the couch.  He began to fondle her in a sexual manner and began kissing her neck.  Eventually he fled the residence through the rear door when he observed the girl's father walking up to the front door.

Location: Horton Lane and Cowboy Way, Edgewood N.M.

Deceased: 27-year-old male from Edgewood New Mexico

On 04-02-15 at approximately 7:30PM the victim's family contacted the Sheriff's Office to report him missing.  They stated they found a suicide letter on his lap top.  A short time later his vehicle was located by deputies in a field near Horton Lane and Cowboy Lane.  He was found outside the vehicle deceased from a self inflicted gun shot wound.

Location: State Road 503 mile post 5

Arrested: Christopher Romero, 38-year-old male from Santa Fe N.M.

On 04-02-15 while conducting a DWI Check Point contact was made with Mr. Romero who was driving a 2006 Land Rover through the check point.  He displayed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests.  he admitted to consuming three beers prior to driving.  He was arrested and refused to submit to chemical testing.  He was booked into the Santa Fe County Jail accordingly.

Location: Residence on Adobe Creek in northern Santa Fe County

On 04/02/15 someone set fire to the victim's 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser and 2013 Honda Civic.  No suspects were observed in the area at the time of the incident.  The State Fire Investigator conducted an investigation and determined the fire was set to the Land Cruiser's front passenger seat and eventually spread to the Civic that was parked next to it.  The investigation is ongoing. 

Case#0215004794 Criminal Sexual Penetration/Aggravated Battery 03-28-2015

Location- Eagle Peak Road (Rancho Viejo)

Victim reported a sexual assault which occured on 03-28-15. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident.

Case#: 0215004737/Burglary, Larceny/Date: 04-01-2015

Location: 300 block of County Road 84, Santa Fe, NM (El Rancho Area)

Stolen: Ryobi 12" miter saw, 12" Electric Chainsaw, Worxs Electric Tree Trimmer, and Ryobi Power Drill Estimated Value: $1050.00

Victim reports unknown person(s) gained unlawful entry into an unlocked detached studio at the above location between the dates of March 27, 2015 at 1:00pm and April 1, 2015 at 12:00pm.  Once inside the above items were taken.  Case still pending further investigation.

Victim reported sometime between 8am and 9am on 04-01-2015, an unnkown male and female attempted to steal 4 solar batteries valued at $2000.00 from a shed on the property. Case is stil under investigation.

Location: Boneyard Road ( Arroyo Seco/ Espanola)

Stolen: handgun,Xbox, Tablet, currency

Victim reported between 8:00 am and 3:45 pm an unknown person forced entry into their residence. Once inside the suspects removed the above items and left the area. Investigation is on-going.

Case # 0215004754 Battery Against A Household Member 04-01-15

Location: Camino Del Rincon (Pojoaque NM)

Charges: Larceny, Battery against a household member.

Suspect: Luis Mortera (21 yoa male, Santa Fe)

Victim reported while eating with the suspect, he took $1400.00 out of her purse and attempted to leave with her money. Suspect and victim engaged in an argument. During that time suspect battered the victim. Suspect fled the area and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest.
