2022002201/Aggravated Burglary/04-11-2022

Stolen: 12 Gauge CZ Shotgun

On Monday, April 11th, 2022, deputies responded to the above area in reference to a burglary. Contact was made with the victim and they advised between March 9th and the 13th, unknown suspects gained unlawful entry into the home and stole the above item. This case remains under investigation. 

2022002153 / Aggravated Fleeing, DWI (Felony), Careless Driving, Driving while License Revoked / 4-9-22

Location: Interstate 25 south from mile marker 268

Arrested: Zack Vigil, 35-year-old male from Santa Fe New Mexico

On 4-9-22 around 5:00pm Dispatch received a report of a reckless driver traveling south on Interstate 25.  The vehicle was described as a blue Cadillac that could not maintain its lane of travel.  Deputy Hernandez located the vehicle and observed it driving off the roadway.  He attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver fled.  A pursuit was initiated and the driver continued to flee south on I-25 into Sandoval County.  Near the San Felipe exit the driver rear ended another vehicle.  The crash was minor and did not disable either vehicle, however after the crash the driver pulled off the highway and came to a stop.  The driver was taken into custody and identified as Mr. Vigil.  He showed signs of heavy intoxication.  It was also discovered his driver's license was revoked due to a previous DWI.  He was booked on the above charges.   

2022002140/Burglary/4-8-2022

Location: 2000 Block Henry Lynch, Santa Fe County, NM

Suspect: Unknown

On February 19, 2022 a male subject driving a black Chevy Avalanche cut the locks of her storage unit and took items from her storage shed. Victim did not report it at the time, however the storage manager told her she needed to report this crime so that the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office could follow up on the case.

2022002124 / DWI / 4-8-22

Subject: 31 YO Female Santa Fe, NM

On the above date the above subject was stopped due to her being a wrong way driver. Upon contact it was believed that she was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. The driver was booked.

20222002110/ Unattended Death

Entering Commander: Cpl. Clay Cullison

Location: Via Optima Santa Fe County

On this date, the male resident was found not breathing and not conscious as he was lying in bed. Life saving measures were performed and exhausted by medical staff. Deceased had medical issues leading up to this incident. No signs of foul play were found, OMI took over the investigation.  

2022002103/Reckless Driving/4-6-2022

Location: Caja Del Oro Grant and Agua Fria, Santa Fe County, NM

Arrested: Josephine Vega

Deputy was traveling westbound on Caja del Oro grant Rd when he observed a maroon mustang cross a double yellow lined, no passing zone at a high rate of speed. This almost side swiped a vehicle and almost hit the Deputy in a head on collision. The vehicle was also observed driving off of the roadway onto a dirt shoulder, unable to make a turn due to high speeds. The driver was stopped and arrested for the above charge. Subject was transported and booked at SFADF without incident.

2022002102/ Breaking and entering, crimnal damage to property, resisting, possession of a controlled substance /4.6.22

Suspect: Adam Duncan 53 Boise Idaho

Suspect forced entry into a home that was vacant and pending being rented causing damage to the interior. He was detained by deputies, resisted them and was in possession of narcotics.

An unknown suspect defrauded the victim of $80,0000 through a scam over the phone where access to her account was obtained. 

2022002062/ BURGLARY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

ASSIGNED DEPUTY: MICHAEL OLIVAS

ENTERING COMMANDER: CPL. CULLISON

LOCATION: 138 TESUQUE VILLAGE MARKET ROAD, SANTA FE COUNTY

SUSPECT: UNKNOWN

On 4-5-2022, Deputy Olivas responded to the market parking lot, where the victim was found/ vehicle's owner. The vehicle's owner advised some unknown persons(s) made entry into the unlocked vehicle and removed property of the owner's . At this time, there is no known suspect information. This case is under investigation.

 

2022002071/ BATTERY UPON A POLICE OFFICER (X2) AND RESISTING AN OFFICER

ASSIGNED DEPUTY: JOHN MAYLONE

ENTERING COMMANDER: CPL. CLAY CULLISON

LOCATION: 32 QUAIL RUN, SANTA FE, NM 87508

ARRESTEE: MELECIO GALLEGOS- 28- YEAR OLD HISPANIC MALE- SANTA FE COUNTY RESIDENT

Charges: Battery upon a police officer (x2) (4th degree Felony) and Resisting an officer (misdemeanor).

On 4-5-2022, Deputy Maylone, Deputy Christopher Podolak and Cpl. Cullison responded to a domestic issue at this address. One party involved was identified as Melecio, who appeared to be under the influence an unknown narcotic during the encounter with law enforcement.

Based off the fact, Melecio is currently on condition of release pending charges and on probation with State of NM Probation and Parole; this is a direct violation of his conditions. Since an arrest order was issued, Deputy Maylone attempted to place Melecio into custody. This was when Melecio actively fought and kicked Deputy Maylone and Cpl. Cullison. Melecio was taken into custody.
