Case# 0210005866 Motor Vehicle Crash (Fatality)

Deputy Assigned:  Deputy Brian Markley

Commander Entering:  Sergeant Joe McLaughlin

Location:  State Road 344 at Los Ranchitos Road, San Pedro, NM

Vehicle:  Red, 1984, Honda, 650cc, Motorcycle

Victim:  Kandace J. Fisher, 40, Santa Fe, NM

On 7-17-2010 at 12:51 PM the victim was operating the vehicle west at the location attempting to negotiate a left curve.  The victim entered the curve at an excessive rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle, laying it down on its right side.  The victim then struck a guardrail support post with her head.  The victim was pronounced deat at the scene.  Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.  The victim was wearing a helmet.  Next of kin has been notified.

Vehicle:  Green, 1998, Nissan, 2 door

Suspect:  Raymond Sanchez, 32, Espanola, NM

Charged:  DWI, Roadways Laned for Traffic

On 7-16-2010 at 8:08 PM the suspect was operating the vehicle at the location and was involved in a single vehicle crash.  The suspect was found to be under the influence of prescription medication and submited to a Blood Test.  Results of the Blood Test are pending.

Location: Hyde Park Road (Hyde Park area)

Stolen: Purse, Credit Cards, Drivers License, Cash

On above date victim reported that between 11:00am and 12:30pm an unknown person(s) used an unknown tool to break the passenger side front window on her vehicle while she was hiking. The unknown suspects stole the above listed items valued at about $110.00

Location: 6100 block of Airport Rd.

Stolen: Samsung 46 inch Plasma TV

On above date victim reported that between 6:00am and 2:30pm an unknown person(s) used an unknown pry tool to gain entry through her front door and take above item valued at about $1300.00. This incident is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

Arrested: Suan Martinez, Age: 31,  Address: PO Box 959  Chimayo NM

Charges: Bringing Contraband In To A place Of Imprisonment

 It was reported that on 07-14-10  Rio Arriba County Sheriff's Dept. transported the suspect to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.  After He was processed in to the facility  he was found to be in possession of two small BB's of heroin. The suspect was charged with the above offense and booked properly

Location: Airport Road and Lopez- Santa Fe

Arrested: William Montoya age: 33

Charges: D.W.I. and Equipment Violation

On 07-16-10 the above driver was observed operating a Dodge Ra, which was observed to have a tail light  out. Upon  making contact with the driver, he showed signs of intoxication. The driver submitted to Standardized Field Sobriety Test and was subsequently placed under arrest. A breath test was conducted with a result of .11/.10 BrAC. The driver was transported to the Santa Fe County Jail and booked accordingly.

Location: US 84/285 MP185- Espanola

Arrested: Martin Quintana age: 45

Charges: D.W.I.

On 07-15-10 the above driver was observed operating a Ford F150 at 66 miles per hour in a posted 45 miles per hour zone. Upon making contact with the driver, he showed signs of intoxication. The driver submitted to Standardized Field Sobriety Test and was subsequently placed under arrest.  The driver was transported to the Santa Fe County Jail and booked accordingly.

Location: Kachina Road (Arroyo Hondo area)

Stolen: 11 Firearms, flat screen TV, Jewelry, Play station, Coins

Victim reported that on this date some time between 9:00am and 4:30pm some unknown person unlawfully entered the above residence through the back door and stole the above listed items. Victim estimated the items stolen to be about $10,000.00

0210005814/ Burglary (Residence), Larceny, Criminal Damage/ 07-15-2010

Location of Incident: Calle Debra (La Cieneguilla) Santa Fe, NM 87507

Suspect(s): 2 hispanic males, 1 female

Suspect Vehicle: 1989 Honda, 4 door, Teal in color, NM 595PDF

On 7-15-2010 at approx. 12:50 p.m. the above victim arrived home and encountered the above listed suspect vehicle in his driveway.  He then confronted an unknown Hispanic male that was standing next to his truck.  When he asked the male what he was doing on his property the male entered into the back seat of the suspect vehicle.  The victim then observed another Hispanic male sitting in the drivers seat and a female sitting in the front passenger seat of the suspect vehicle.  The suspect vehicle began to back out of the driveway and struck the victims vehicle.  The suspect vehicle then fled the area in the direction of Paseo Rael.  The victim then discovered that his residence had been unlawfully entered through an open window and burglarized.  Stolen from inside the residence were 2 MacBook Laptop Computers, 8 recording microphones and computer software.  Total estimated value of the property stolen is $4,220.  An attempt to locate the suspects and the vehicle was made to no avail.

Case#: 02100005809/ Burglary, Unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, Criminal Damage to Property/ Date: 07/15/10

Location:  residence off of Jacona Road, Santa Fe, NM (Pojoaque)

On 7/15/10 victim stated that between 7/14/10 at 1730 hours and 7/15/10 at 0630 hours someone had burglarized his shed.  Victim advised the shed was forcefully entered with an unknown object or tool.  Victim advised that the 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle was taken.  The motorcycle was located at a residence off of Santa Fe County Road 84.  Estimated value of the motorcycle was at about $3000.00.
