Case#: 0210006042/ Burglary, Larceny, Criminal Damage to Property/ Date: 07/22/10

Location:  800 block of Old Las Vegas Highway, Santa Fe, NM (Canoncito)

On 7/22/10 victim reported that between the hours of 1015 and 1430 hours his residence was broken into through an open window.  Victim stated suspects entered the above residence and attempted to take a JVC 52" TV.  Suspects then left the TV on the driveway and left with the remote.  Victim stated that the estimated value of the remote is about $50.00.  Estimated damage amount to the screen is about $30.00.  Nothing else appeared to be missing.

0210006016 DWI 7/22/10

Commander Entering: Lt. Jeremy Garcia Deputy Assigned: Deputy Brian Markley
Location: Airport Road

Arrested: Robert Romero DOB: 10/14/1964 Charges: DWI, Bench Warrant

Above suspect was encountered after he left the Giant Gas Station. A welfare check was called in, as the clerk at the gas station believed he was under the influence. Suspect showed signs of impairment. Suspect admitted to consuming alcohol. The suspect refused to submit to a breath test.

0210006005 DWI 7/21/10

Location: I-25 milemarker 274

Arrested: Melissa Rivera DOB: 6/20/77 Charges: DWI, Careless and Suspended DL

Above suspect was encountered after she was involved in a crash. Suspect showed signs of impairment. Suspect admitted to being under the influence of marijuana. A blood test was conducted and the results are pending.

0210006018 / Death Investigation / 7-22-10

Deputy assigned: Deputy Ray Villanueva

Commander entering: Cpl Daniel Chavez

Location: Lucia Lane - Santa Fe Recovery Center

Deputies responded to a medical call regarding a 41 year old male, unresponsive, and CPR in progress. He was later determined to be deceased. Preliminary investigation showed a significant medical history and no signs of foul play at that time. The Office of the Medical Investigator retained custody of the deceased and further investigation is ongoing.

Case#: 0210006009/ Burglary(attempted), Criminal Damage to Property/ Date: 07/21/10

Deputy assigned:  Deputy Gabriel Cebada

Location:  3900 Agua Fria, Santa Fe, NM (Agua Fria Village)

On 7/21/10 deputy responded to an activated alarm at the above location.  Deputy met with a responsible who stated that she was contacted by the alarm company.  Upon checking the business it was determined that unknown suspects attempted to gain entry by forcing the AC unit forward which caused the AC unit to break the frame and the contact points set off the alarm.  Entry was not gained into the establishment.  Estimated damage amount is pending.

Case#: 0210006014/ Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon/ Date: 07/21/10

Deputy assigned:  Sgt. Linda Ortiz

Location:  3700 block of Camino Tierra Rael, Santa Fe, NM (Tierra Rael MHP)

Suspect:  Michael Barela, age 57, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Agg. Assault w/Deadly Weapon

On 7/21/10 victim stated that he arrived home from work and got out of his vehicle to open the gate to his residence when the suspect who was walking picked up a rock and threw it at his face.  Victim stated that he dodged the rock so it would not hit him.  Victim stated that the suspect then continued walking in an easterly direction.  Deputies located suspect who refused to cooperate.  Suspect was then placed under arrest, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.  Victim stated that he did not know the suspect.

0210006003 Burglary (Auto) 7/21/10

Location: Casa Villitas Apartments (Off Rufina Rd)

Stolen: Silver in color, Flashlight valued $25.

On the above date victim reported that unknown person entered his vehicle through an open rear window. There was no damage to vehicle and the above item was taken. There are no suspects at this time.

0210006001 Burglary 7/21/10

Location: Moya Road (Eldorado)

Stolen: TV, DVD Player, I Pod and a Safebox, valued $2,000.

On the above date victim reported that unknown person entered his home through an open rear window by removing the screen. The burglary took place some point in the morning between 9:00am and 10:45am. There are no suspects at this time.

Stolen: 50” LCD TV, Misc. Jewelry and I Pod Docking Station, valued at $6,000

On the above date victim reported that unknown person entered his home through an open rear window. Victim reported the above items were taken in a pillowcase. The burglary took place some point in the morning between 8:00am and 10:00am. There are no suspects at this time.

Case# 0210005989 Possession of Cocaine

Deputy Assigned:  Deputy Leonard Martinez

Location:  Calle Po Ae Pi, Santa Fe, NM

Suspect:  John Valdez, 28, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Possession of Cocaine, Warrant - Failure to Appear

On 7-21-2010 at 2:54 AM the suspect was a passenger in a vehicle which was stopped at  the  location.  The susspect was not wearing a seat belt.  A check with the Santa Fe Regional Emergency Communications Center revealed that there was an active Arrest Warrant for the suspect issued by the Santa FeMunicipal Court. for Failure to Appear.  During a search of the supect subsequent to his arrest for the warrant a plastic baggie containing a white, powderey substance suspected of being cocaine was located inside one ot the suspect's socks.
