On January 5th at 4:43 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Casa Rufina to perform a welfare check on a tenant. The apartment manager advised that she had not heard or seen the victim in several days. The manager stated that the victim usually pays rent on time, but the victim's rent is 5 days past due. After failing to make contact with the victim, deputies were let into the victim's apartment. At this point deputies found an unresponsive female lying on the bed. OMI and deputies did not find any signs of foul play on the body or in the apartment.

Arrested: Jose Maestas, 21-year-old male from Santa Fe N.M.
On 1-5-18 Deputies responded to a house fire at the above location: Investigation revealed the suspect lit his mother's house on fire because he was mad at her. He lived in the home alone and nobody was injured. His mother lives elsewhere. The house was a total loss. He was arrested and booked into the Santa Fe County Jail.

on 1-5-18 Santa fe Community college staff reported a student never returned a camera they had checked out for a class. The student is no longer attending the class and has not been heard from. The camera is valued at $1,648

On 1/5/18, Deputies stopped above listed driver after receiving several "reckless driving" calls on the vehicle throughout the day. The driver displayed signs of impairment and was arrested. He refused a breath test. His license was also revoked due to a prior DWI and his vehicle was seized. He was booked into the Santa Fe County ADC.

While incarcerated at the Santa Fe County Detention Center Suspect was served Bench Warrant for failure to appear. Suspect was rebooked.

Suspect: Austin Cox, 25, Los Alamos, NM
On Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at approximately 11:19pm, Deputy responded to location in reference to a male who did not possess any form of identification. Male was identified and returned through N.C.I.C. with an outstanding arrest warrant. The warrant was for the original charge of Driving While License Suspended. Suspect was placed under arrest, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.

Victim had a gathering at his residence on New Years Day. Victim noticed his handgun missing today. No suspects at this time.
