Location: 100 Block of 9 Mile Road

Stolen: Power Equipment (Chainsaws, power washer, etc.)

On Thursday, September 15th, 2022, deputies responded to the above area in reference to a burglary. Contact was made with the victim who advised unknown suspects had gained unlawful entry into a storage building and stole the above items. This case remains under investigation.

Suspect was served an active arrest warrant while he was incarcerated at the county jail. 

2022005341/unattended death/9/15/22

Decedant : 93 year old male

 

Family members reported the above male passes away unexpectedly. Deputies arrived on scene and saw no signs of foul play and it appeared the male passed away of natural causes.

Suspect: Jerimiah Mayer, 40YOM,Santa Fe NM

Victim : 71 year old female

Victim is elderly and reported the above suspect strangled her by wrapping his hands around her neck. Suspect left prior to Law Enforcements arrival. An arrest warrant was drafted and approved by a magistrate Judge for the suspect.

Location: NM 76 and McCurdy Road, Santa Fe, NM

Arrested: Matthew Ruiz, 26 YOM

On Wednesday, September 14th, 2022, deputies were patrolling the area when they observed a driver commit a traffic infraction. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the above driver. It was later discovered the driver had an active felony warrant for his arrest. After the warrant was confirmed, he was placed under arrest without incident. The driver was then transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility.

LOCATION: EL LLANO ROAD SANTA FE COUNTY

ARRESTEE: GUTIERREZ, STEVE FIDEL- 62-YEAR-OLD ESPANOLA RESDEINT

CHARGES: DWI 

On 9-15-22, Deputy L. Martinez responded to a single vehicle crash on El Llano Road, where Deputy Martinez found a motor vehicle crashed into a residential fence. During the course of his investigation, the driver was found to be slumped over at the wheel, displaying signs of impairment. Driver showed signs of impairment during administration of SFST's. Gutierrez was placed into custody. A blood draw was conducted based off evidence at the scene. Gutierrez was booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center on the above charges   

2022005275 / Death Investigation / 9/11/22

Location: Santa Fe Ski Base

Subject: 48 Year Old Male

On the above date deputies were dispatched to a male subject that was not conscious and not breathing. Upon deputies and medics arrival no signs of life were observed and OMI was contacted. This case is currently under investigation.

2022005274 / Auto Burglary / 9/11/22

Suspect: Unknown

Deputies responded to a report of an auto burglary of an unattended vehicle. The reporting party stated an unknown subject had broken a window on her 2012 Land Rover and had taken a black purse containing keys, wallet, and $1000.00 in cash. The case is currently under investigation

2022005256/ DWI AND CARELESS DRIVING

ASSIGNED DEPUTY: JOSEPH LUJAN

LOCATION: 65 NM 4

ARRESTEE: PAULL ORTEGA-62-YEAR-OLD RESIDENT OF LOS ALAMOS, NM

CHARGES: DWI AND CARELSS DRIVING

On 9-10-2022, Deputy Lujan responded to a motor vehicle crash resulting in a vehicle stationary on its roof. Upon arrival, Deputy Lujan contacted the driver, Paul Ortega, who admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages prior to crashing his vehicle.  During the course of the investigation, Deputy Lujan observed signs of impairment as Ortega submitted to SFSTs. Ortega was placed under arrest. Ortega submitted to a breath test, which yielded a BrAC of 0.08. Ortega was booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center without incident. Cleared by arrest.
