2021004012/Burglary/5/7/21

Additional Crimes: Larceny, Extreme Cruelty to Animals

Suspect: Pending Investigation

Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a burglary. Once on scene it was learned that an unknown suspect gained entry into a residence through a window. Victim indicated that several cameras, a chainsaw and a safe with jewelry were taken from the residence. Victim also indicted that he located his pet cat and two of his canines deceased at the location and the animals may have been poisoned by the suspect. The case is under investigation.

Missing: Frank Ybarra 36 Santa Fe, NM

Reporting party indicated that her husband left 2 days prior after an argument. He stated when he left that he needed to clear his head. He has contacted family members since he left but wont give his location. Male was entered as a missing person.

2021004007/Driving on a Revoked License/5/7/21

Location: Hwy 84/285 and Boneyard 

Suspect: Christopher Law,33, Espanola, NM

Suspect was stopped for driving with no registration, a traffic stop was conducted it was discovered he was driving on a revoked license with the arrest clause. When placing the suspect under arrest he ran from the Deputy. The deputy was able to apprehend the suspect and he was booked into jail with an additional charge of resisting an officer.

Suspect: Bruce Peterson 81 y/o Male 

Additional Charges: Careless Driving and Open Container 

Suspect was observed committing a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, signs of impairment were observed. Suspect was arrested and booked accordingly.

2021003966,Burglary/Criminal damage to property/Larceny,5-6-2021

Location: County Road 84 #300 Block, Santa Fe, NM

Suspect: Pending

Stolen: 2 glass cases, 1 black DVD player, 42 inch television

Victim reported sometime between May 4th 2021 around 2:30pm and today's date, unknown suspect(s) gained unlawful entry and damaged doors and locking mechanisms.  While inside the building, suspect(s) stole the above mentioned items. Case is under investigation.

2021003916 / Unattended Death / 5-4-2021

Victim: 30 yo male

On the above date Deputies responded the above address after the decedent was found in his residence not conscious but breathing. The male subject was transported for further medical care but later passed away.

Suspect: Terrence Benavidez 22 Santa Fe NM 87507

Deputies were in the area attempting to locate a reckless driver. The mentioned vehicle was located stalled at the intersection. Contact was made with the driver and an odor of alcohol was detected on his breath and person. SFST’S were administered and the suspect displayed signs of impairment. Suspect was arrested and the NM implied consent advisory was read. The suspect agreed to provide a sample of his breath with the results being .16/.16 Suspect was booked without further incident. 

2021003872/DWI-Battery Upon a Household Member/05-02-2021

Deputy Assigned: R. Lopez

Arrested: Edward Sanchez, 39 YOM, Santa Fe, NM

Location: Sunset Trail West, Santa Fe, NM

On Sunday, May 2nd, 2021, deputies responded to the above area for a domestic disturbance. The above suspect was found to have fled the scene just prior to deputies arrival. He was pulled over and he displayed signs of impairment. The suspect declined to submit to a chemical test. The suspect also was found to have battered a household member prior to leaving the scene. He was placed under arrest and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.

202103857/ Burglary of a motor vehicle 5/1/21

Assigned Deputy: Anthony Currey

Location:1650 Galisteo St.

Suspect: Unknown

Deputies responded to above location as the victim stated her vehicle was broken into and her ignition was damaged. DNA swabs were taken from the scene. The suspect is outstanding.

Location: State Road 599 mile post 7 Santa Fe NM 87507

Suspect: Ivania Cruz 31 Santa Fe NM

Suspect was stopped for passing a deputy at a high rate of speed. The traffic stop culminated in the arrest of the driver for DUI. She refused to provide a breath sample.
