On 4/16/09 victim advised that between 0800 and 1400 hours unknown person(s) entered his residence through an unlocked door and stole a 40" flat screen TV.  Estimated value is pending.

On 4/16/09 victim noticed that unknown suspect(s) broke window on the north side of his residence.  Evidence showed that suspect(s) entered residence into a bedroom.  Victim was unsure if any items were removed from residence.  Estimated value of broken window is pending.

Suspect:  Leon Lopez, age 51, Santa Fe, NM

On 4/16/09 deputy observed suspect almost strike several vehicles and commit several vehicle infractions.  Deputy conducted a traffic stop.  Contact was made with suspect in which he appeared to be impaired.  SFST's were conducted and suspect showed signs of impairment.  Suspect was arrested and submitted to a breath test.  His BrAC results were .11, .11.  Suspect was transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Suspect:  Margarito Velasquez, Abiquiu, NM

Charged:  Driving on a suspended/revoked driver's license, Bench warrant out of Santa Fe Municipal Court for failure to appear

On 4/16/09 a bolo was issued for suspect by the Santa Fe City Police Department.  Deputy located vehicle at above location and conducted a traffic stop.  Deputy ran suspect through DMV and NCIC in which suspect had a suspended/revoked driver's license and a bench warrant out of Santa Fe Municipal Court for failure to appear.  Suspect was arrested, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

On 4/16/09 victim advised that a Dewalt chopsaw and a Dewalt drill were taken from the outside of his residence near his work bench.  Victim stated suspect(s) took items between 1100 to 1400 hours.  Estimated amount of items taken is $650.00.

On 4/16/09 deputy responded to 1601 St. Michael's Drive and met with victim.  Victim advised that he parked his vehicle at above location about 2 months ago, but would check on it periodically.  Victim stated that his vehicle was broken into sometime last night.  Victim stated suspect(s) broke driver's side front window and took misc. tools, misc. clothing, a suitcase, and a backpack.  Estimated value of items taken is $850.00.  Estimated damage amount is $500.00.

Charges: Battery Against A Household Member

on the above date the suspect was placed under arrest after he had been involved in a domestic dipute with his girlfriend. She claimed that he had battered her. Victim had visible injuries to her head and arm.

On the above date the suspect was stopped for a traffic violation. During that time it was determined that he was under the influence of intoxicating liqour or drugs. He was placed under arrest and booked on the above charges.
