On the aforementioned date, Deputies responded to the area in reference to Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. Upon speaking with the victim, it was discovered that an unknown person gained entry into the victims vehicle and stole his speaker box and attempted to steal his stereo. The suspect(s) damaged the dash board on the victim's SUV in attempts to remove the stereo. This case is under investigation. No suspect information is available at this time.

Charges: Warrant Arrest for failure to appear on a charge of Suspended Driver’s License
A traffic stop was conducted on the suspect for speeding. When checked he was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
The suspect was booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility on the above charge(s).

Suspect: David Tafoya – 42 - Santa Fe, NM
Charges: Warrant Arrest – Suspended Driver’s License – Misuse of Registration Plate – No Insurance
A traffic stop was conducted on the suspect. When checked he was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. During the stop it was learned that he was driving on a suspended license, there was no insurance on the vehicle, and the registration plate did not belong on the vehicle.
The suspect’s vehicle was impounded until he can provide proper proof of ownership.
The suspect was booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility on the above charge(s).

Damaged: Mail Cluster Boxes
Deputies were dispatched to a report criminal damage to property. Report of cluster mailboxes damaged. I observed two of the eight cluster boxes were damaged in the rear. The back doors were bent and appeared to have been forced open with a tool similar to that of a pry bar. There was no mail remaining in any of the boxes. The post master was notified and advised they would investigate.

On 01/24/17 the victim reported his snowboard was stolen from the above location. The incident occurred between 3:30pm and 4:30pm. Suspect information is pending at this time.

On 01/24/17 the victim reported his vehicle was stolen from the parking lot at the above location. The victim parked his vehicle at the location on 01/23/17 and found the vehicle gone at 7:40am on the 24th. Surveillance showed the vehicle being taken at approximately 6:45am on the 24th. The victim had his Smith and Wesson handgun in his vehicle at the time it was taken. Suspect information is pending at this time.

On 01/24/17 the victim (Correctional Officer) was retrieving a food tray from the floor when the above suspect reached through the food port and struck the victim. The suspect slapped the victim in the right ear. The above suspect was booked accordingly on the aforementioned charge.

Charges: DWI, Minor in Possession of Alcoholic Beverages
On Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at approximately 1:44am, Deputies were dispatched to location in reference to an intoxicated subject who was under the age of 21. Contact was made with suspect 2 who identified who she had arrived with. Contact was made with suspect 1 who was operating the vehicle. Suspect 1 displayed signs of impairment. Suspect 1 submitted to the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and showed signs of impairment. Suspect 1 was placed under arrest for DWI. Suspect 2 was on probation and was arrested for a probation violation and minor in possession of alcoholic beverages. Suspect 1 and 2 were transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident. Vehicle was not seized under the county ordinance due to suspect 1 not having any prior DWIs.

On Monday, January 23, 2017 at approximately 8:39pm, Deputy responded to location in reference to a counterfeit bill. A male had found a $20 bill and attempted to use it at the casino. When a machine would not accept it, he attempted to exchange the bill where it was discovered that it was a counterfeit bill. Investigation is ongoing.

Suspect: Lawrence Armijo– 46 - Santa Fe, NM
Charges: Battery against a Household Member
A witness observed his neighbor having an argument and pushing the female victim. When deputies arrived they observed marks on the victim that were consistent with the witness statement that the victim was pushed. The suspect was arrested for Battery against a Household Member.
The suspect was booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility on the above charge(s).
