2021003310, Unattended death, 4-11-2021

Location: Hondo Lane, Santa Fe, NM

Deceased: 87 year old female

Deputies responded to above location in reference to the above subject found unconscious and not breathing.  Medics arrived on scene and found no signs of life.  During the investigation, the deceased suffered from medical issues.  OMI arrived on scene and found no signs of foul play.

2021003311, Commercial Burglary/Larceny/Criminal damage to property,4-11-2021

Stolen: U.S. currency

Unknown suspect(s) gained unlawful entry by breaking a window with a rock and stealing U.S. currency from the cash drawer. Case is under investigation.

Suspect got into an argument with his girlfriend. During the argument, the suspect applied force to the victim. The suspect was arrested and booked accordingly.

On April 10, 2021 unknown suspect(s) unlawfully gained access into the victims vehicle while it was parked on the shoulder of Interstate 25 Road. Miscellaneous tools were stolen and the case is under investigation.

Suspect was observed passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle. Signs of impairment were observed. Suspect was arrested and booked accordingly.

Suspect was stopped for an equipment violation and it was discovered he was driving in a revoked license with the arrest clause.

2021003215 / Possession of a Controlled Substance x2, Concealing Identity / 4-6-2021

Location: US 84/285 Frontage Road at Suenos De4 Vigil Road

Arrested: Justin Leyba, 33-year-old male from Chimayo N.M.

On 4-6-21 a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle Mr. Leyba was in because he was not wearing a seatbelt.  He concealed his identity and was found in possession of Marijuana and Suboxone. He also had a warrant for his arrest.  He was booked into the Santa Fe County Jail accordingly.   

2021003211 / Aggravated DWI, Negligent Use of a Deadly Weapon, Careless Driving / 4-6-2021

Location: Interstate 25, mile post 264

Arrested: Marcelino Quintana, 25-year-old male from Santo Domingo Pueblo

On 4-6-2021 at approximately 3:30pm Mr. Quintana crashed his truck into the guardrail on southbound I-25 near mile marker 264.  Deputies responded to the crash and observed Mr. Quintana displaying signs of intoxication.  He was placed under arrest and submitted to a breath test, results of which were over twice the legal limit.  A firearm was also located inside his vehicle.
