On 02-17-09 The Staff at the Pojoaque High School called our agency to report a child abuse of a sixteen year old student. It was reported that the child was being physically abused by her father for several years now. The case is still under investigation.

Victim reported that sometime between 6:45am on 2/17/09 and 12:25am on 2/18/09, unknown person(s) UNLAWFULLY gained entry to the residence by prying open a rear kitchen window. Suspect(s) THEN STOLE OVER $1,800.00 in misc jewelry,camera and  2 computers. Investigation continues.

Victim reported that between 0815 hours and 1700 hours unknown suspect(s) gained entry through an unlocked front door.  While inside unknown suspect(s) took a sentry safe, a HP laptop, a HP desk top and baseball cards and 2 Seiko watches.  Estimated value is $4350.00.

Suspect: Brian Maestas, age 22, Gallina, NM

Charged:  Bench warrant out of Santa Fe Municipal Court for failure to appear

On 2/17/09, suspect called Sheriff's Office for a civil standby and was found to have an active bench warrant out of Santa Fe Municipal Court for failure to appear.  Suspect was arrested, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Location:  6100 block of Vuelta Ventura, Santa Fe, NM

Victim reported that between 1200 and 1230 hours unknown person(s) gained entry in her home by forcing open the rear door.  Victim said one inside the offenders took a 32" Flatscreen TV and misc. jewelry.  Estimated value for the TV is about $1500.00 unknown value for the misc. jewelry.  No suspects at this time.

Suspect:  James Hayes, age 41, Madrid, NM

Charged:  Disorderly Conduct, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer

While Deputy was investigating a motor vehicle collision, he observed suspect yelling at another male that he was going to mess another male up (in reference to fighting the male). Upon deputy speaking to suspect, suspect walked away from deputy and became disorderly by yelling and being boisterous.  While deputy was placing suspect in handcuffs, suspect pulled away from deputy.  Suspect was arrested, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

On the above date the victim reported that on 12-08-08 he purchased a vehicle over the internet on E-Bay. He sent the suspect $4,285.00 to an address in Dalas Tx. and kept in communication with the suspect. As of last week he has not heard back from the suspect and has received the vehicle.

On the above date the victim reported that on this date between the hours of 10:00 AM and 12:15 PM someone forced entry to her residence. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Location: Cedar Creek Apts. - Santa Fe, NM

Witness stated he heard glass breaking and went outside to see two males fleeing from the victim's vehicle. One of the windows had been broken and a Sony brand amp was stolen from inside the car. The suspects had not been located at the time of report. The identity of the suspects is still unknown.

0209001454/ Battery Upon a Health Care Provider

Arrested: Nicoe Sena age: 37

On 02-16-2009 Deputies were dispatched to assist the Santa Fe Fire Department at the above address. It was learned that a Paramedic with the Fire Department was struck in the face by the above individual. She was placed under arrest and booked accordingly at the Santa Fe County Jail.
