2022000579/AGG DWI/1-27-22

Suspect: Lusita Nez     Age: 27

On Thursday, January 27, 2022, Deputies observed a vehicle flashing its lights and saw a female standing outside of her vehicle.  When the Deputy made contact he observed the female to have slurred speech and bloodshot watery eyes.  The female refused chemical testing and was booked accordingly.

2022000566, Unlawful taking of a motor vehicle,1-27-2022

Assigned Deputy: P. Caroland

Location: Rito Guico/Camino Lagunitas

Suspect: Pending

Victim reported he parked the vehicle at the above location in the intersection on 12-13-2021.  When he returned that evening, the vehicle was stolen. Owner was under the impression the vehicle was reported stolen during the time of the incident and learned no report was generated.  Case is under investigation.

Location: La Bajada Rest Area

Suspect: Joseph Bowannie

On the above date the suspect crashed his vehicle into a cable barrier at the rest area. Deputies observed signs of impairment.The suspect refused field testing and chemical testing. The suspect was booked without incident.

202200506/Fraud/01-25-2022

Location: Sherry Lane, Santa Fe County, NM

Fraud amount: $20,000

Victim received a phone call from a Jamaica number saying he had won 2.1 million dollars and a new car in the lottery. Victim was advised that he just needed to send a 7,000 dollar deposit for the winnings. Once the money was sent, they called the victim back and said the accounting department made a mistake and he won ten million dollars and a new car, but victim needed to send another 13,000 dollars, which he did. When the money and car did not show up the victim realized he had been scammed and reported this crime.     

2022000491 / Death Investigation / 1-24-22

Deputy assigned: N. Lefleur

Location: Residence in the Rancho Viejo Subdivision, Santa Fe N.M.

Deceased: 76-year-old female

On 1-24-22 a 76-year-old female was found deceased in her residence by a friend.  The friend went to her residence after not hearing from her in a couple days.  The investigation revealed she appears to have passed away from natural causes.

Incident Location: Butterfly Mobile Home Park

Suspect: Unknown

On Sunday, January 23, 2022 Deputies responded to the location  in reference to a sexual assault that occurred. Victim reported she was sexually assaulted.  Case was turned over to Santa Fe County Detectives for further investigation.

Deceased:  31 year old female

Deputies responded to above location in reference to an ambulance assist of a female subject not conscious and not breathing. OMI arrived on scene and found no signs of foul play. 

2022000471/Aggravated DUI/1.23.2022

Location 176 US 84/285 Santa Fe NM 87506

Suspect Karly De La Cruz 32 Santa Fe NM

Deputies were dispatched to the area of US 84/285 near mile marker 176 in reference to a motor vehicle crash with no injuries. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke the drivers involved. During the course of the investigation signs of impairment were detected on Karly Dela Cruz driver of the silver in color Porsche Cayenne. SFST’s were conducted and Karly was placed under arrest and booked into ADC.

Location: State Road 599 mole post 3

Suspect: Kyle Chavez 24 Albuquerque NM

Dispatched to a reckless driver. Vehicle located traffic stop conducted. Signs of impairment observed. SFST conducted. Driver arrested transported to the Sheriff’s office where he blew .24/.24

Driver was booked without incident

2022000463 / Possession of a controlled substance to witt: Cocaine and Ecstacy, Roadways laned for traffic / 1-23-22

Deputy assigned: J. Soriano

Commander entering: Lt. M. Delgado

Location: Richards and Cerrillos Road

Arrested: Michael Pizzagalli, 43-years-old male from Santa Fe N.M.

On 1-23-22 a traffic stop was conducted on Mr. Pizzagalli after he was observed failing to maintain his lane and almost striking another vehicle.  While speaking with Mr. Pizzagalli, deputies observed what appeared to be powder cocaine and ecstasy pills inside his vehicle.   Further investigation and field test kits confirmed deputies suspicions.  Mr. Pizzagalli was placed under arrest and booked into the Santa Fe County Jail accordingly.
